Short Crust Pastry

Dough Kneaded Lightly

This is the basic recipe for Short Crust Pastry. The ingredients listed are enough for the top and bottom of a normal size pie plate.

  •  8 ozs. Flour - Any will do.
  •  2 ozs. Marg
  •  2 ozs. Lard.
  • Cut the fats into smallish bits.
  • Lightly and quickly rub the fats into the flour with your fingertips.
  *If you want to use brown/wholemeal flour I would suggest using half brown and half white.
  • Add a little cold water and mix with a knife.
  • Knead lightly into a ball. Use now or put in the fridge.
